O.P.S.™ Double Lumen
(Oocyte Puncture Set)


Description

The Set must be connected to a Falcon tube.

The O.P.S.™ Double Lumen includes a double-flow needle, 30 cm useful length. It consists of two concentric needles:
  • The outer needle is 16 Gauge O.D., and 18 Gauge I.D. with a double cutting beveled point, and an echogenic end part on 2 cm, and over 5 mm from the distal 3rd cm.
  • The inner needle is 19 Gauge O.D., and 21 Gauge I.D. A Fluoro Ethylene Propylene (FEP) extension tubing fitted on this needle allows aspiration of the follicular fluid in a Falcon tube (not supplied) sterilized by irradiation.
The Y-Shape connection in the needle fitting allows flushing of sterile medium into the outer lumen up to follicles, via FEP tubing and a luer white adapter.

A larger tubing, with a (green) luer adapter is connected with the Falcon cap and is dedicated to creating vacuum depression.

The O.P.S.™ is supplied with a protective sheath on the needle.


Indications

IVF: Embryo Transfer

Collection of oocytes using celioscopic approach or ultrasound guidance (transvesical, transvaginal, periurethral or endovaginal). The double lumen allows pre-rinsing of follicles directly at the pick-up location. The O.P.S.™ Double Lumen allows rapid collection of a maximum quantity of oocytes without trauma.
