Description

This device is 23.5 cm long, 3.14 mm O.D. and consists of two parts:

A flexible polypropylene sheath, with a beveled distal tip and depth marks at 4,7,8, and 10 cm
An inner EVA piston that can slide via a soft acetal resin rod

Indications

Sampling

Ectocervical or endocervcial sampling of the cervical mucus. After insertion through the cervical os, the Spirette™ tip is advanced to the sampling area: ectocervix or endocervix. Suction is generated by withdrawing the piston. Once the sample is collected, the Spirette™ is removed and the sample is smeared on a slide by pushing back the piston.
