Intended Use: Summary and Explanation

NidOil™ is a sterile (filtered), light paraffin oil for use as an overlay during gamete or embryo storage in the incubator, or during manipulations outside the incubator.

General recommendations for use

Equilibrate NidOil™ and culture/ manipulation medium in CO2 incubator at 37ºC before use. Place 4-5 mL oil over droplets of culture medium in a petri dish.

NidOil™ can be filter sterilised, if required, using a 0.45 µm filter (e.g. Millipore Millex-GV). Do not use filters containing extractables or wetting agents as these may be toxic to sperm.

Storage and Stability

Store unopened bottles at 2-40ºC and avoid temperatures above or below these values.
Under these conditions NidOil™ has a shelflife of 2 years. The expiry date is shown on both bottles and cartons.
Open and close bottles under aseptic conditions. After opening, store at room temperature when not in use.
No antibiotics, unstable additives or preservatives have been included in NidOil™.

Precautions and Warnings

Use aseptic procedures at all times.
Do not reuse the product because of contamination risk.
Avoid ingestion and contact with eyes.
Avoid disposal of the used product in the public sewerage system.
NidOil™ is combustible and should not be used in the proximity of an open flame. In the event of fire, use foam, carbon dioxide or powder to extinguish.
